The Good, The Bad, The Ugly - Week 3

Good

Adrian Peterson. AP took the Vikings, put them on his back and ran all over the Lions. The Vikings passing game looks terrible and Farve looks his age but Peterson single-handedly won the game Sunday. Over the past 2 weeks, Peterson has over 300 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Without Peterson, the Vikings don’t have a shot at the playoffs.

Runner Up: Michael Vick

Bad

The Mike Shanahan era. Shanahan arrogantly thought he could go into the season with a stable of washed up running backs and the corpse of Joey Galloway and still put up points. The season began with a big win over Dallas, followed by a late game collapse in Houston. Sunday the Redskins lost outright to the Rams. This week they draw the ire of Philadelphia. Andy Reid does not want to look like he made a mistake in cutting Donovan loose. Shanahan has his work cut out for him.

Runner Up: Sebastian Janikowski

Ugly

The San Francisco 49ers. Congratulations to San Fran for being the first team to fire a coordinator in-season. After last year, the 49er’s appeared to be headed right direction and in a weak NFC West, they would make the playoffs by default. They still may sneak into the playoffs, but winning the NFC West in 2010 is like being the tallest mountain in Kansas. They’ve put up the least points in the league and QB Alex Smith’s progression appears to have stalled. Mike Singletary wanted winners but ended up with Michael Crabtree.

Runner Up: Garrett Hartley
